Owner and co-founder Gamel "DJ Mel" Moore receives no compensation for keeping the station on the air, but there are several costs associated with keeping the station running including but not limited to royalty fees, technology costs, new music and various monthly costs. This is the cost of broadcasting WMEL Radio stream and making it available through other sources.
